Looking for a gift to give this holiday season? A piece of art or photography is a meaningful present that can last for generations. There are so many talented artists in Louisiana. Think about spreading their creative inspiration to friends and family members in the form of a gift that is thought provoking and can be cherished for years to come. One our editor’s picks is Ryan Lips who is a landscape photographer and native New Orleanian whose family roots in the region date back to the 1750s. Ryan graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in communications. He grew up as an artist – working with pencil and charcoal – creating drawings of people, places, and everything in between.
“My goal with every photograph is to recreate what I saw and what I felt when I was standing there in the scene. I try to take photographs that I enjoy looking at over and over and my hope is always that others will feel the same way.”
Ryan’s landscape photography was published in the award-winning book The Gardener’s Garden. He is available for commissioned work.
